We can’t wait to welcome you in 2026 to Auckland, New Zealand’s biggest and boldest city - and the proud host of the 35th ANZSLA Conference! Nestled between two sparkling harbours and crowned with volcanic peaks, Tāmaki Makaurau is a place where sport, culture and natural beauty collide.
Auckland has been the stage for some of Aotearoa's most unforgettable sporting triumphs – Grant Elliot's iconic match-winning six against South Africa in the 2015 World Cup semi-final, Team New Zealand’s America’s Cup victories on the Waitematā, and the Black Ferns’ inspirational Rugby World Cup win in 2022 in front of a record-breaking Eden Park crowd. More recently, Auckland took centre stage as one of the host cities for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, showcasing both world-class football and world-famous hospitality.
Of course, the Australia–New Zealand rivalry is never far from the action – whether it’s the Bledisloe Cup (we’ve lost count of how many years that trophy has stayed this side of the ditch), netball’s fiercest trans-Tasman battles, or the endless debate over who really invented the pavlova. But in October 2026, it won’t just be about the rivalry – it will be about bringing together the brightest minds in sports law from both sides of the Tasman, and beyond.
Dynamic, diverse and buzzing with energy, Auckland is a city that thrives on competition and camaraderie, but never forgets to put on a warm welcome - especially when it comes to hosting an anniversary this special.
This 35th conference is not just a milestone for ANZSLA, but a celebration of three and a half decades of shaping the conversation around sport and the law in our region. So don't miss out - see you in Auckland from 21 to 23 October 2026.
Kind regards,
Neena Ullal & Tenille Burnside
