Preventing Corruption & Collusion Behind Putting on Major Sporting Events is a panel session on day 2 of this year's conference with key agencies involved in the prevention of corruption, providing guidance to assist sporting bodies, governments, athletes and individuals to avoid being involved in corrupt or collusional conduct when preparing for, building facilities for or convening a major sporting event.

| CHAIR: Simon Grant (Barrister, 19 Inns Chambers, Brisbane)
Simon has wide-ranging legal experience, having been admitted as a Barrister on 16 June 1997 while in the employ of the Crown Solicitor. He is also admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia, and as a solicitor in England and Wales.
Simon’s practice now includes matters in – ❖ Administrative law and government decision making ❖ Civil liability, negligence and consumer law

| Dan Wilcock (Head of Sustainability Governance, UN Global Compact Network Australia) Dan Wilcock is the Sustainability and Governance Manager for UN Global Compact Network Australia. He is responsible for delivering our activities on Anti-Bribery & Corruption, as well as the Sustainable Developments Goals.
Dan has an extensive background in corporate criminal and regulatory investigations, compliance programs, international relations and sustainability. He is admitted to legal practice in Australia and Canada and holds a Master of Laws in Global Sustainability and Environmental Law. He has previously served in a number of executive roles in government and the not-for- profit sector, in areas including environmental policy, international relations, sport, marketing law and antitrust law. Dan also has background in sport as an international competitor and coach (snowboarding) and is the previous President & CEO of the Canada Games, Canada’s largest multi-sport event.

Craig Capper (Corruption Senior Executive Officer (Corruption), Crime and Corruption Commission Queensland)
Craig Capper is the Senior Executive Officer (Corruption) for the Crime and Corruption Commission. He is head of the Corruption Division, who assess and investigate complaints of serious and systemic corruption and undertake a range of prevention activities to raise the standard of conduct in the Queensland public sector.
Mr Capper holds a Bachelor of Laws (UTS), a Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice (UTS), a Bachelor of Policing (Prosecutions)(CSU), a Graduate Certificate in Domestic Violence (QUT), a Master of Laws (UQ) and a Master of Business Administration (Griffith). He was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in 2004 and the High Court of Australia 2009. He has many years’ experience in senior and executive positions in law enforcement agencies including the NSW and Queensland Police Forces. |

| Marie Monforte (Competition Enforcement and Cartels Branch, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission
Marie Monforte is a Director in the Competition Enforcement and Cartels Branch of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). She leads a national multi-disciplinary team and is responsible for investigating both criminal and civil cartels, as well as other competition law contraventions. Marie has experience leading complex cartel investigations across a plethora of industries, and has held various roles in enforcement since she joined the ACCC in 2010. As part of the ACCC’s proactive cartel detection work, she is responsible for leading and delivering a targeted outreach program, aimed at addressing collusion in major sporting events.

Ronan O'Laoire (Performance Coordinator, UNODC Programme on Safeguarding Sport from Corruption and Economic Crime)
Ronan O’Laoire is a Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer working in the Corruption and Economic Crime Branch of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) where he leads the Programme on Safeguarding Sport from Corruption and Crime. This role involves: supporting the development of the International Partnership Against Corruption in Sport (IPACS); contributing to activities of the G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group; implementing and coordinating multiple projects and partnerships, including with the European Commission, INTERPOL, FIFA, the International Olympic Committee and the Asian Football Confederation; providing technical assistance to and building capacities of Member States, sports organizations and related stakeholders to prevent, detect, criminalize and investigate corruption and crime in sport; and enhancing cooperation and coordination between law enforcement and criminal justice authorities and sports organizations.
Prior to joining UNODC, Ronan worked extensively in national, regional and international domains on issues linked to multilateral diplomacy, anti-drug trafficking, disarmament, nuclear non-proliferation and international cooperation. He holds master’s degrees from Trinity College Dublin and Sciences-Po Paris and completed studies at l’Ecole Spéciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr and the School of Business of the George Washington University.
