The Commentator: Volume 76 –8 January 2009
Welcome to Volume 76 of The Commentator. First up in this edition, Philip Ascroft, a student at New Zealand’s Canterbury University comments on the vexing question of how to deal with use of cannabis by athletes. In the second article, Muneyo Shino, another student at New Zealand’s Canterbury University examines the implications of the establishment of the Indian Cricket League on world cricket. Following on, in Sports Briefs, is an article by Chris Davies, Senior Lecturer, James Cook University, Townsville on the selection into and subsequent exclusion from the Australian Beijing Olympic team of swimmer Nicholas D’Arcy, and mountain bike rider, Chris Jongewaard. Anzsla President, Ian Hunt reviews the year in sport and welcomes Board members, Paul David from Auckland and Martin Ross from Melbourne. In my editorial I discuss the importance of people involved in administering sport being aware of the contents of their governance documents.
