The Commentator - latest issue

In the first article for this edition, Alison Quigley, a doctoral candidate in lawoutlines the National Redress Scheme which arose out of the Royal Commission into institutional child sex abuse.  She also case studies the response of the sport of gymnastics.

In the second article, Tony Dempsey Solicitor from Dempsey’s Law Firm Sydney studies the administrative and possibly political considerations behind Novak Djokovic’s deportation from Australia after he arrived in Melbourne to participate in the Australian Open Tennis, unvaccinated against Covid.

The third article from Annemarie Goodwin, a Sports Lawyer who specialises in tennis and cycling, proposes some suggestions for changes to the rules of cycle racing to improve safety for riders and spectators.

In the fourth article, Hugh Lyons  Legal Counsel at Cricket Australia discusses how Global warming is causing an increase in the frequency and severity of extreme weather events and its impact on sports.
