EOI Board Members - Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) Role length: Sessional, Up to 5 years Location: Melbourne CBD, online or another location About the board The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and interested individuals to be considered for appointment to Victorian sport, tourism and events entity boards. Entities within the Sport and Experience Economy Group of DJSIR perform a range of important functions, from the managementand regulation of Melbourne's key sports, entertainment, conference and exhibition facilities to the development of Victoria's elite athletes, delivery of major events, and the attraction of visitors and events to Victoria. The Victorian Government invests in major sport, conference, tourism and events facilities and entities to: - position Victoria as a world-leading tourism destination;
- drive the Victorian visitor economy through the attraction of visitors and events;

build and maintain Victoria's capacity to stage significant business, sporting and major events and exhibitions;
- support state level and professional sporting teams competing in national and international competitions;
- support high performance athlete development through the provision of quality high performance coaching, training, sports science and recovery facilities;

provide welcoming, safe and inclusive facilities that support general participation in sport and recreation; and
- regulate professional boxing and combat sports to promote safety, reduce the risk of malpractice and uphold industry integrity.

Rugby Australia - Legal Counsel - Commercial
Moore Park, NSW Purpose
The key purpose of this role is to support the Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel in managing Rugby AU’s in-house legal function with a focus on commercial matters, including sponsorship, government, intellectual property, information technology, insurance, digital media, marketing, licensing and major events.
This role involves providing dedicated legal business partner support for all aspects of Rugby AU and its group companies’ commercial operations including in relation to Rugby World Cups, Sevens World Series, Olympic and Commonwealth Games, Wallabies, Wallaroos, Super Rugby Pacific, Super Rugby Women’s and other elite national programs. This includes broad responsibilities for transactional legal work, revenue generating and other commercial contracts, player contracting, disputes and litigation, IP protection, corporate governance and the management of external legal counsel.
