Join ANZSLA members and guests for a presentation by David Stewart, Principal, Bennett + Co Corporate and Commercial Law, Perth, discussing the value of intellectual property rights for sports from both a positive perspective and the risks of a negative image and what sports can do to protect their interests.

David Stewart, Principal, Bennett + Co Corporate and Commercial Law

Dave was admitted as a lawyer from 1995, as a registered trade mark attorney from 1999, and as a notary public from 2012. Dave was awarded a Masters in IP Law in 2000 and appointed an Adjunct Professor at Murdoch University in 2013. While working in Hong Kong, Dave assisted Major League Baseball with various trade mark registrations in Hong Kong (2000-2001), and the NBA by way of anti-counterfeiting operations in southern China (2001-2003). Dave has written and spoken extensively about the interaction between social media and intellectual property.

This event will take place on Thursday, 19 September 2019 from 5.30pm (5.45pm start) to 7.30pm @ Bennett + Co, Ground Floor, BGC Centre, 28 The Esplanade, Perth, WA 6000.  Please feel free to join members and guests for a networking opportunity after the discussion.  Refreshments will be provided.  

 

Legal practitioners may claim 1 CPD point (substantive law)* for attendance at this event (*subject to approval by the Legal Practice Board of WA).
