ANZSLA and the US Sports Lawyers Association (SLA) Webinar:

Expanding sports events and competitions into the USA,

Australia and New Zealand markets

Thursday, 25 September 2025 @
9am to 10am (AEST)

Dear @{aspediacrm-person-firstname},

The Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association (ANZSLA) and the US Sports Lawyers Association (SLA)  invite you to attend a webinar on: Expanding sports events and competitions into the USA, Australia and New Zealand markets with guest speakers Dan Dressler (Head of Legal & Company Secretary, National Rugby League (NRL)) and Britt Sellers (Senior Vice President, Head of Event Strategy for NBA Properties), and moderated by Bobby Hacker (Robert A. Hacker, Attorney at Law, Former President SLA).

Professional sports are expanding their activities into new territories.  The National Rugby League (NRL) launched its 2024 and 2025 seasons in Las Vegas, USA.  In October 2025 the New Orleans Pelicans are playing pre-season matches in Melbourne, Australia against National Basketball League (NBL) teams.  These cross-border ventures raise legal and commercial questions around event hosting, sponsorship, immigration and governance.  This webinar brings together leading sports law experts from the US and Australia and New Zealand to explore the opportunities and challenges in this new era of international sport expansion.

This free webinar is open to ANZSLA and SLA members only.   Legal practitioners may claim CPD for attendance.
