ANZSLA Young Members’ Subcommittee

Call for Expressions of Interest

ANZSLA is thrilled to announce the launch of the ANZSLA  Young Members’ Subcommittee – an exciting new initiative that will play an important role in connecting young professionals, promoting sports law, and helping shape the future direction of ANZSLA.

About the Subcommittee

The Young Members’ Subcommittee has been established to:

  • Connect young ANZSLA members and strengthen our professional community; and
  • Promote accessibility and awareness of sports law among emerging practitioners across Australia and New Zealand.

As a member of the Subcommittee, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Help organise events and networking opportunities for young members;
  • Contribute ideas and content for ANZSLA webinars, publications, and social initiatives;
  • Work with the ANZSLA Board to make recommendations on engaging and growing our young member base; and
  • Collaborate with other passionate young professionals who are shaping the future of sports law.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking enthusiastic and committed young members who are keen to get involved and make a real contribution.  To be eligible, you must be a current ANZSLA member and be under the age of 35 at the time of appointment.

The Subcommittee will consist of 5–10 members and appointment will be for a one-year term (with the option to renew).

How to Apply

Please send your Expression of Interest by 5pm (AEDT) on Friday, 7 November to Sharon Scriven via anzsla@anzsla.com, including:

  • Your full name and contact details
  • Your current role and organisation
  • Confirmation that you are under 35
  • A short statement (max. 300 words) outlining why you’d like to join and how you’d contribute to the Subcommittee’s goals
  • A brief resume

The ANZSLA Board will review EOIs and appoint members who reflect the diverse sectors of sports law — from private practice to in-house, government, and academia — across Australia and New Zealand.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build your network, develop your leadership skills, and help shape the future direction of ANZSLA through its events, publication and engagement.

For further information, please contact Sharon Scriven, ANZSLA Executive Manager @ anzsla@anzsla.com.

Kind regards,
