It has become clear that we cannot now deliver the excellent conference we had planned in October due to the current Covid-19 situation. ANZSLA is very disappointed about this as a well-supported and high standard conference was ready to go. However, we are delighted to announce that the 2021 Conference will not be cancelled but will instead be postponed until 30 March to 1 April 2022 and we look forward to welcoming you to Byron Bay then.
ANZSLA members are invited to join the ANZSLA Mentoring Programme. There is no fee to join. The programme aims to assist in the professional development of a mentee's skills and strategies in the sports and sports law industries.
Mentors and mentees will be matched and introduced by ANZSLA but the participants will then be given the scope to determine their own objectives and the way that they wish to communicate and carry them out. However, ANZSLA will be available to assist and advise, as necessary and will conduct an evaluation of the programme. Applications close on 31 August 2021.
As part of its commitment to legal education, ANZSLA has established an annual scholarship programme to support an individual who wishes to engage in legal research in the area of Sports Law. The award is available to those ANZSLA members who are either planning to study or who are currently enrolled in a graduate academic programme in a university or similar tertiary education provider, or in a course of studies that has a demonstrable sports law component.
The sports law scholarship grant available for 2021/2022 is $10,000. Applications close on 31 August 2021.
